HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
A. INTRODUCTION TO THE MAJOR
What is human resource management?
- Human resource management is all the policies, activities, and management decisions that affect the relationship between the enterprise and all employees. The human resource management department must have a strategic vision and be closely linked to the business's operational plans.
- Human resource management is one of the important and basic functions of management, because people are the core, the most important resource and also the center of the development of a company or business. If the sales department is said to be the spearhead, bringing all the benefits and revenue to the enterprise, then human resources are considered a solid foundation to help the enterprise develop. Therefore, attracting, training, recruiting, evaluating, and arranging people with the right capacity and qualities for the position, while at the same time supervising, leading, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws... are the top priorities of managers.
- While human resource courses are a compulsory component of business courses, students can seek a higher level of expertise in human resources by taking human resource management courses at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Undergraduate courses examine and evaluate how people, processes and structures interact with each other. It focuses on the important and decisive parts of an organization such as decision-making, planning, management and the process of formulating business strategies by individuals and groups within the organization.
B. TRAINING OBJECTIVES
1. Professional knowledge:
- Provide basic and in-depth knowledge of human resource management, including aspects such as recruitment, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and labor relations.
- Understand the principles and practices of human resource management in international and local contexts.
2. Management and leadership skills:
- Develop management and leadership skills, including the ability to plan, organize, operate and control human resource activities.
- Enhance decision-making, problem-solving, and change management in the organization.
3. Communication and interaction skills:
- Enhance effective communication skills, including listening, persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Develop teamwork and relationship management skills in the organization.
4. Legal and ethical understanding:
- Provide knowledge of legal regulations related to labor and human resource management.
- Raise awareness of ethical issues in human resource management and develop the ability to make ethical decisions.
5. Analytical and evaluative skills:
- Develop skills to analyze and evaluate human resource management policies and practices.
- Use data analysis tools and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of human resource programs and activities.
6. Innovation and creativity:
- Encourage creative thinking and innovation in human resource management.
- Develop the ability to design and implement new programs, policies and procedures to improve human resource management effectiveness.
7. Strategic thinking:
- Develop strategic thinking skills in human resource management, understand the role of human resources in the overall strategy of the organization.
- Connect human resource management activities with the organization's business goals.
8. Technology application:
- Understand and apply modern information technology and human resource management software.
- Exploit digital tools to optimize human resource management processes and activities.
- These goals aim to help students majoring in Human Resource Management gain a solid knowledge base, high professional skills and the ability to adapt to changes and challenges in the modern working environment.
C. PROGRAM INFORMATION
1. Admission requirements: High school graduates (or equivalent), grade 12 average score of 6.0 or higher
2. Selection models: Study model: Students are free to choose 1 of the following 3 study models:
✅ 3+0 model: 3 years of study at the University of Finance - Marketing, Vietnam.
✅ 2+1 model: 2 years of study at the University of Finance - Marketing, Vietnam and 1 final year of study at HELP University, Malaysia.
3. Admission fee: 500,000 VND/set of documents
4. Language of instruction: English
5. Program allocation:
✅ Candidates who meet the IELTS 5.5 or higher or equivalent entrance requirements will be admitted to the main program (major). The total study time for major modules is 3 years.
✅ For candidates who have not met the English entrance standards, the University of Finance - Marketing will arrange an English entrance training program to meet the entrance standards before entering the main program.
6. Study method: Full-time study model in Vietnam:
✅ Lecturers sent by HELP to take charge of 20 hours of review lectures (if the class size is 35 students or more)
✅ Experienced lecturers (foreign and Vietnamese) from UFM take charge of 42 hours of theory lectures (for 4-credit subjects).
7. Study time: Full-time study during the week from Monday to Saturday
8. TUITION: Paid by semester
✅ Tuition for the English training program (only for students who have not met the English entrance standards): 60,000,000 VND/entire training course (including 4 levels, each level is equivalent to 15 million VND). Students will be tested and classified according to their respective levels by the School.
✅ Tuition fee for the year of major in Vietnam: 1,600,000 VND/credit. Total program from 120 -130 credits depending on the major.
✅ Tuition fee abroad: If students choose the 2+1 or 1+2 study abroad transfer model in Malaysia: Estimated tuition fee is about 8,500 USD/year, living expenses from 300 - 500 USD/month.
9. DIPLOMA
BACHELOR OF BUSINESS (Bachelor of Business) awarded by HELP University (MALAYSIA). This is a regular degree accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and registered with the Malaysian Qualifications Regulatory Authority (MQR), has international value, and is recognized by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

✅ Compensation and benefits analyst: designs, implements, and manages compensation and benefits programs for an organization.
✅ Employee relations manager: responsible for maintaining positive employee relations and resolving workplace issues.
✅ Training and development specialist: designs and delivers training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge.
✅ Labor relations specialist: responsible for managing an organization's relationships with labor unions and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
