UCSI University's doctoral programs have been accredited and authorized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program is a collaborative degree offered by the University of Finance and Marketing (UFM) and UCSI University, which began in 2019. To date, the program has completed 5 successful cohorts.

The DBA program aims to develop a knowledge system in business management closely aligned with the practical realities of the economy. It is designed to train senior managers by advancing theories of multi-disciplinary management, enhancing leadership and strategic skills. The program allows students to acquire advanced knowledge in comprehensive business management, develop the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world practices, and improve productivity and efficiency in business management processes.

This collaborative DBA program leverages the strengths of both institutions. Students are trained with a research orientation, helping them gradually develop research skills and the ability to conduct business management research. Students are equipped with the methodologies and tools necessary to conduct research within their own organizations, based on their personal experiences and modeling management theories.

The ultimate goal of the DBA program is to help students develop knowledge and skills in business management, research capabilities, and elevate corporate management practices in a global environment.

II. INFORMATION ABOUT THE DBA BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION JOINT PROGRAM (DBA) UCSI - UFM

2. Program Structure
The program duration is 3 years (extendable up to 7 years). The first year focuses on coursework, followed by 2 years dedicated to thesis research. Details are as follows:

  • Year 1: Coursework in Knowledge Development, Skills, and Research Methods
    • Research Methodology – 6 credits
    • Human Resource Management – 3 credits
    • Marketing Management – 3 credits
    • Quantitative Research Methods – 3 credits
    • Economics – 3 credits
    • Financial Management – 3 credits
    • Strategic Management – 3 credits

  • Year 2-3: Doctoral Thesis (56 credits)
    Students select a research topic and follow the research process under the guidance of two professors (one from UCSI and one from UFM). They will defend their thesis proposal and their final thesis at UCSI.

3. Tuition Fees
The total tuition fee for the 3-year DBA program is 349 million VND, with the following payment schedule:

  • Payment 1: 100 million VND
  • Payment 2: 60 million VND
  • Payment 3: 60 million VND
  • Payment 4: 60 million VND
  • Payment 5: 69 million VND

Total tuition: 349 million VND, excluding English exam fees, travel expenses for thesis proposal defense and thesis submission, and other related fees at UCSI.

If students cannot complete the program within 3 years (6 semesters), they must pay an additional registration fee of 36 million VND per year. The maximum duration for completing the DBA program is 7 years.

4. Admission Process
The DBA program is managed by the International Training Institute at the University of Finance and Marketing. Admissions are open year-round. Applicants must have a Master's degree and at least 2 years of work experience in any field of the economy (regardless of undergraduate major).
