The joint PhD training program between the University of Finance and Marketing and UCSI University (Malaysia) proudly honors Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, the first doctoral candidate to successfully defend his dissertation under this international collaboration. This milestone represents a meaningful step forward in fostering educational cooperation and cultivating talent.

On December 4, 2024, the dissertation defense was held at UCSI University, Malaysia, with the participation of the academic council, including Professor of Management Information Systems Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen (The University of Jordan) and Abdulaziz Alsagar Chair Professor P. Vigneswara Ilavarasan (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi). The event also featured key department leaders such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eugene Aw and Prof. Dang Van My. Successfully excelling in the Viva Voce defense, PhD candidate Nguyen Thanh Luan officially completed the joint Doctor of Business Administration program between the University of Finance and Marketing and UCSI University (Malaysia), becoming the first Doctor of Business Administration graduate of the program.

The success of Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan is the result of his relentless effort, unwavering determination, and a strong spirit of learning and research. This achievement was also greatly supported by the dedicated mentorship and close collaboration of the faculty members from both the University of Finance and Marketing and UCSI University (Malaysia).

Senior Prof. Dr. Garry Tan Wei Han, a prominent professor at UCSI University (Malaysia) known for his remarkable research contributions both nationally and internationally, served as the Co-Supervisor. He inspired Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan as well as numerous doctoral candidates from UFM. Moreover, Distinguished Prof. Dr. Keng-Boon Ooi and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Nguyen Ngoc Anh Thu provided valuable guidance and unwavering support, playing a crucial role in assisting Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan throughout his research process.

Throughout his research and studies at the University of Finance and Marketing, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan demonstrated excellence in both academics and research, achieving notable accomplishments. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Luan is the author of a scientific article published in the journal Computer Information Systems (Taylor and Francis; SCIE; ABDC A). This article was ranked among the most downloaded articles in the journal in 2023.
